Female veterans bravely serve our nation, yet upon returning home, many face daunting challenges, especially when it comes to housing security and mental wellness. Did you know that approximately 30% of female veterans with children confront housing insecurity within just five years of leaving military service? They are also more than twice as likely as their male counterparts to experience homelessness alongside their children. This creates a troubling cycle of trauma and instability that impacts multiple generations.

Our sanctuary focuses on vocational training and nature-based healing programs, as studies highlight their profound impact. An impressive 82% of veteran mothers participating in ecotherapy programs report a significant reduction in PTSD symptoms, compared to only 41% under traditional therapy. The need for family-centered healing approaches is critical since untreated PTSD in female veterans can increase the risk of anxiety disorders in their children by five times. Importantly, 92% of women in nature-based therapy programs achieve stable housing with their children after one year, a stark contrast to the 47% success rate of those receiving traditional interventions.
